Funeral services for Rev. Ramon Warren are scheduled for 10 AM Wednesday, June 24, 2020, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Lisa Mayo of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 23, 2020, from 5 PM until 6:30 PM at Goldens. Rev. Warren was born September 10, 1933 in New Summerfield, TX, and passed away June 20, 2020, at the age of eighty-six. He was a graduate of Bastrop High School and Louisiana College. Ramon received a Master of Divinity degree from Midwestern Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri. He spent his life following and serving Jesus Christ as a Southern Baptist Minister in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Missouri for twenty-five years. He then began serving as a Methodist minister, completing his ministry locally at both Mer Rouge Methodist Church and Memorial Methodist Church until his retirement in 1997. Rev. Warren is survived by his wife, Sue Johnston Warren; daughter, Karen Warren of Hattiesburg, MS; son, Brad Warren and wife Theresa of West Monroe, LA, and her daughters, Ann Cooke and husband Gordon of West Monroe, Amy Porter and husband Neill of Meridian, MS, Carol Weiland and husband Ken of Clarksdale, MS; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lance and Daphne Warren; son, Kenneth Warren; sister, Betty Warren; and brother, Charles Warren. The family would like to thank Racheal, Christy, and Christy at Savannah Court, along with the staff who took care of Rev. Warren. They will be eternally grateful.
