Obituary of Chris Floyd

Funeral services for Chris Floyd are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2019, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Jones, LA. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 4, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Goldens.

Chris was a farmer and truck driver, and passed away Monday, April 1, 2019, at the age of 55. He loved and adored his grandchildren, and cherished spending time with them. Chris was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and he valued his country life. He loved his family, and to know him was to love him.  Chris was a man of character and integrity above all else. He was willing to help anyone in need at any time. There was always a sparkle of joy in his eyes, and he always enjoyed a good joke!

Chris is survived by his wife, Linda Floyd; daughter, Hope Myers, and husband Joshua; son, Cody Floyd, and wife Nicole; sisters, Brenda Martin, and husband Charles, Kaye Brown, and husband Joe, Fay Sanderson, and husband Lloyd, and Karen Boone; grandchildren, Wyatt Myers, Makayla Floyd, Adelynn Myers, Bella Bell, Payton Bell, Kayden Pope, Brayden Pope; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, E.B. and Dera Jane Floyd.

Serving as pallbearers will be Pete Crymes, Andy Bunch, Darin Pruitt, Patrick Murphy, Junior Burdan, and L.D. Prescott. Honorary pallbearer will be George Gunter.
