Obituary of Gloria Dawn "Donnie" McDowell

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Gloria Dawn “Donnie” McDowell are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Tillou Cemetery with Jonathan Wallace officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM Wednesday at Goldens. Mrs. McDowell passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the age of seventy-six. She was a retired supervisor with Jordache Garment Factory and employee of International Paper Company. Mrs. McDowell loved raising English Bulldogs and Pugs, working in her garden, and canning. Another of her favorites was garage selling and going to Thrift Shops. She attended Tillou Baptist Church but her greatest love was for her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Carlton McDowell; son, Gregg McDowell and wife, Elizabeth of Bastrop, LA; daughter, Stacey Daigle and husband, Randy of Calhoun, LA; sister, Elaine Crainshaw and husband, Larry, of West Monroe, LA; brothers, James Farrar of Sheridan, AR, Ricky Farrar and wife, Diane, and David Farrar and wife, Cindy, both of Bastrop, LA; grandchildren, Misty Dew and husband, Sam, Dillon McDowell and wife, Cayce, Logan Daigle and wife, Kayla, Farrar McDowell, Jennifer Gerald and husband, Jason, Jonathan Wilson; great grandchildren, Eli Dew, Brody McDowell, Beaux McDowell, Faythe McDowell, Hux McDowell, Kyleigh Daigle, Kaleigh Daigle, Charleigh Daigle, Baylee Maus and husband, Jeff, William Henson, Joseph Henson, L.J. Wilson; great great grandchildren, Jackson Maus, and Grayson Maus; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Mrs. McDowell is preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Ruth Farrar; brothers, John Farrar, Gary Farrar, Glynn Farrar; sisters, Sue Jackson, and Carol Silmon. Her grandsons and nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
