Obituary of Elizabeth LeAnn Barnhill

Memorial services for Ms. Elizabeth LeAnn Barnhill are scheduled for Friday, November 24, 2023, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Bro. Tim Post officiating. A time of visitation will precede the service, beginning at noon. Ms. Barnhill was born April 17th, 1974, and passed away Tuesday, November 14th 2023, at the age of forty-nine. She was born in Bastrop, LA and had been a resident of McKinney, TX since 2010. LeAnn graduated from Bastrop Vocational College in 1999 (LPN) at the top of her class. She was a devoted Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Mother and Friend and in her young years she was considered an elite softball player. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. She was employed by The Collin County Detention Facility where she was considered a phenomenal nurse. She was loved by patients and staff and will be sorely missed. She was a member of One Community Church of Plano Texas. LeAnn is preceded in death by her grandfather, Otis (Peck) Capers, grandmother, Doris Inez Capers, Mother, Sybil Inez Capers, Uncle, Otis Dewey Capers and Wife, Margie Capers and Cousin, Frances Denise Capers. Survivors include her son, Caleb Splond, currently of Orlando, Florida; daughter, Lexie Lara of McKinney, Texas and now living in Bastrop LA; brother, Gary Barnhill and Wife Lori, of McKinney, Texas, and their children Jacob and Emily; aunt, Darlene Harrell, and husband Robert; cousins, Ceally Catherine Mitchell and husband Greg, Patty Ray, Missy Ray, Bill Capers, Michelle Harrell, Brandon Harrell, and wife Shauna, Patrick Harrell and Donna Whetstone.
