Funeral services for Mr. James M. Johnson, age 91, are scheduled for 1 PM Saturday, March 23,2024, in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Mr. Jake Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 PM until 1 PM Saturday.
Mr. Johnson, a retired Fire Chief of the Bastrop Fire Department and member of Goodwill Church of Christ passed away Friday, March 22, 2024.
He is survived by his sons, Reagan Johnson of Bastrop, LA, Shaun Johnson; grandchildren, James Reagan Johnson “Bubba”, Ashley Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Gabriel Johnson and five great grandchildren.
Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his parents, Ike and Ella Johnson; brothers, Elvin Johnson, Bennett Johnson, John Ike Johnson and a sister, Claudine Huff.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Wayne Cook, David Anderson, Floyd Swain, Fred Nero, Harold Watts and Glen Taylor.
