Graveside funeral services for Edward Wayne McKee, age 72, of Bastrop, LA, have been scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2005 at the Bonita Road Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jimmie Herring officiating. Mr. McKee was a retired employee of 37 years with International Paper Company's maintenace department. He is a member of Bonita Road Baptist Church and had served on the Morehouse Parish School Board for 12 years ( 1976-1988). He also served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Mr. McKee passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2005 at Morehouse General Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Algenia Herrington McKee; daughter, Joy Lynn McKee of Pigeon Forge, TN; two sons, Earl Wayne McKee and wife Toni of Denham Springs, LA; Steve McKee and wife Donna of Bastrop, LA; four sisters, Alma Bordeaux of Wilmot, AR, Juanita Grice of Wilmot, AR, Sally Galler of Bastrop, LA and Nellie May of Bastrop, LA; seven grandchildren, Maranda Austin and Matthew Coy of Sterlington, LA, Amanda and Colleen McKee of Denham Springs, LA, Melanie McKee of South Wales, Australia, Tassi McKee (USAF) of Monterey, CA and Steven Brooks McKee of Bastrop, LA; two great grandchildren, Brittnay and Chasity Merrett of Florida and nurmerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. McKee is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Dollie McKee; 3 brothers, Louis and Buey McKee and Elzie Risinger and a sister, Minnie Blocker. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 10, 2005 from 5 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
