Funeral services for Ray Harrison, age 80, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, August 17, 2007 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Kurt Auger officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Bastrop. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Harrison, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Monday, August 13, 2007. He was a retired captain with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and a Navy veteran of WWII having served in the South Pacific. He was a member of Paron Baptist Church in Sterlington. Mr. Harrison was a past president of the Louisiana Wildlife Agents Association, member of Irvin Lake Hunting Club, and past president of the VFW in Bastrop. He is preceded in death by his wife, the love of his life, Estelle Harrison; parents, F.T. & Edna Harrison; brothers, Henry, Terry, O.M., and J.C. Harrison; and sisters, Carrie Lee White and Bertha Hamilton. He is survived by three daughters, Rita Johnson & husband Archie, Connie Harrison, Debra Gray & husband Mark; grandchildren, Eric Johnson, Stephen Best, Kimberly Edmonson, Mark Johnson, Jessica Malone; great grandchildren, Christina Edmonson, Josh Edmonson, Zeke Malone, Katelynn Best, Tony Best and Andrew Johnson. Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Best, Paul Bowe, Mark Gray, Allen Bankston, Steven White, Bill Gray, B.J. Harris, and Robin Cox.
